Munich/Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, 11th December 2020 – Bionorica SE, the manufacturer of herbal medicinal products based in the Upper Palatinate, has today been honoured in the “Bavaria’s Best 50” competition. Bavaria’s State Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy Hubert Aiwanger says: “The coronavirus pandemic presents particular challenges for the Bavarian economy. The great capacity for innovation and the high degree of motivation of our Bavarian companies are not only growth factors, but also guarantors for successfully mastering this crisis. We have honoured the best 50 of them with the “Bavaria’s Best 50” award today.”
“Being identified as one of Bavaria’s Best 50 companies is a great honour for us. I would like to warmly thank all of my employees, who account for Bionorica's success” says Professor Michael A. Popp, CEO and owner of Bionorica SE.
Professor Popp, who received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 2016 for his sustainable business activities, thereby underlines the significance of owner-managed medium-sized enterprises for Bavaria’s economic power. “These companies stand for continuity; they have been job generators for decades and are often innovation leaders in their sector. It is good that this major contribution is being honoured with the `Bavaria’s Best 50’ award,” emphasises the pharmacist, who is the third generation of his family to manage Bionorica and has been successfully doing so for more than three decades.
Bionorica has been honoured several times
The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy selects “Bavaria’s Best 50” companies every year. Bionorica has already been honoured in the “Bavaria’s Best 50” competition in 2017, 2014, 2011, 2009 and 2007.
